Backpacking in Vietnam? Find Ho Chi Minh City Hostels

"Ignore that cheesy tittle LoL All jokes aside this place is perfectly located and just in 5-10mins walk you will be in Bui Vien - the famous backpacker district of Saigon. Around the hostel there are plenty of shops like Cycle more like 7Eleven you will find in Bangkok and other great places to eat and visit. Have I mentioned how comfortable the dorm beds are and how friendly and helpful the staffs are. Overall, its a fantastic place to stay and the toilet are clean but bring your own soap because they do not provide that and I wish they do. Just on piece of advise just have an open mind when your visit Ho Chi Minh City because come during peek time motorbikes are everywhere even on the footpath which is crazy yo and the Vietnamese people won’t stop steering at my chocolate skin ahah"

"we had an overnight stay in ho chi minh city before flying out early the next morning. got off the plane, picked up our luggage, wheeled the bags to the hotel and were relaxing some 20-25 minutes after walking out of the airport. the hotel is rather cheap, so we decided not to risk it and went for the "vip" room, which was large, had a complimentary plastic flower and a good sized tv. the bed was also good. no negative comments about the shower - there was no curtain, but the shower works just fine. if you do not have a map or feel uneasy crossing 8 lanes of traffic with your luggage (which is actually perfectly fine - you realise this on your 4th day in vietnam), you can get a cab for about 50000 dong ($2.50 us) - make sure you discuss the price before getting in the cab (if you want to be super fair, go to the arrivals area and pick up a cab that is setting off customers - otherwise the taxi drivers wait literally for hours before picking someone up from the airport - you will realise this as you drive/walk towards the hotel and see the taxi line). overall we got a good place to sleep for a bit more, than we would have paid for the taxi to take us into town, while saving ourselves some precious sleep time."

"This has got to be the best place to stay in Ho Chi Minh City! The hostel staff are the most friendliest people I've ever met, the owner is so kind and the facilities are fantastic. Stayed here for a total of 4 weeks for work, and my stay was nothing short of amazing! I actually came back a week later from Hanoi and cancelled my hotel so that I could stay here for two more nights before I went back to Australia to spend time with the staff who became very close friends of mine. They even invited you out to eat with them and made you feel very at home and part of the family! The facilities such as the dorm rooms and beds were neat and presentable, lockers were very handy and toilet facilities were clean. The hostel staff were also very approachable and hospitable, always willing to give suggestions as the best places to eat and also booking day tours and other activities when needed. I highly recommend staying here!"

"This Hotel is new! So I give a try on it. First, the room is super clean and relaxable, I like the way they connect everything here, so it make small room look kinda big, opened and a bit sexy. the bed is sooo soft... like 5 stars hotel, good sleep!!. .... and hey, why people here always smile, haha. They have very beautiful coffee shop, and also a coworking space. I love people here, especially Mr Panda and Ms Hippo at Den Lounge, haha... they all have nickname, Funny... they have pool table, and staffs always ready to play with me. Nice food, nice drink, nice Cocktail and live Music also. My business trip look like a vacation here, haha. Bye bye my funny Home!!! back to my peaceful home now. See you soon my friends!!!"
